Epic Mickey 2 coming to Vita

Despite its poor sales and scores shutting down Junction Point.

Junction Point's swan song, Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, will be coming to Vita later this year, Disney has announced via Twitter.

This is surprising as Epic Mickey 2 didn't perform so well commercially. In its first two months it sold only 529,000 copies across all platforms (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and Wii U), whereas the first Epic Mickey was a Wii-exclusive and still managed to shift a respectable 1.3 million copies in its first month.

Epic Mickey 2 was a critical flop as well with a Metacritic score ranging from 56-64 depending on the platform. Our resident Disney expert and former Pirates of the Caribbean usher Chris Donlan loved the concept of Epic Mickey 2, but wasn't so keen on its execution. "I'd love the big, glossy, elephant folio art book of the Epic Mickey series, but I can probably do without the games themselves," he wrote before slapping a 4/10 at the end of his Epic Mickey 2 review.

Due to its poor reception Warren Spector's Junction Point Studios was shuttered and the Deus Ex co-creator is no longer at the house of mouse.
