Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons shows off gameplay, unique control scheme

The brothers are controlled by different analogue sticks/shoulder buttons.

The Darkness and The Chronicles of Riddick developer Starbreeze has detailed its upcoming fairy tale-esque digital download Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons in a new gameplay trailer below.

As it turns out, you'll be controlling both brothers at the same time - each one tethered to a different analogue stick ala Ms. 'Splosion Man's "Two Girls, One Controller" mode. This adventure takes the symbolic input metaphor further as the shoulder buttons on the left side of the controller will control actions for the older brother while the shoulder buttons on the right handle the little brother.

Interestingly, each brother will handle almost every action in their own way. The responsible older brother may grab a stranger's attention by tapping him on the back while the mischievous little brother will slap his ass - much to his dismay.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is due this spring on XBLA, PSN and Steam.
