Microsoft to reveal its next console in April - rumour

Has already registered a domain for the event.

Microsoft is reportedly going to host a one-off event in April to unveil its upcoming console, according to a report at CVG.

Both VG247 and The Verge corroborated this time frame, stating that they'd heard similar murmurs from inside sources.

Adding further evidence that Microsoft is planning a special event outside of its usual E3 press conference in the fact that it's registered the domain XboxEvent.com with Eventcore (formerly US Techs), an agency that handled Microsoft's E3 press conference registration site last year at XboxE312.com (thanks, NeoGAF).

April would be a nice, quiet time for a reveal as it's two months ahead of E3, though it's expected that Microsoft will have to discuss its upcoming tech at least a little at GDC in late March.
