Penny Arcade Episode 4 will be exclusive to PC and XBLIG

"Our mobile games & ports haven't done so well."

Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 4 will be exclusive to PC and XBLIG upon its release this spring, developer Zeboyd has announced.

This will be the first game in the series to not appear on Mac. Conversely, Penny Arcade Episode 3 - the first game in the series developed by Zeboyd after taking the reins from Hothead - was the only episode to appear on iOS and Android.

"Our mobile games & ports haven't done so well so the new PA RPG will only be on PC & XBLIG. Apologies to fans of iOS/Mac/Android," tweeted Zeboyd's Robert Boyd.

"We'd love to put our games on every platform available but we're a two-man operation and want to be able to keep making new games," he added. "Would love to keep supporting those platforms but gamers weren't supporting us there."

When asked about a release on a Nintendo or Sony-based platform Boyd replied, "There's a chance, but it's not likely." And regarding Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 he said, "My general understanding is that WP8 & W8 aren't worth it at the moment."
