Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is due out this year for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 - but not Wii U, Konami has confirmed.

The producer behind Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 tweeted to say there's "no chance" of a Wii U version.

Dave Cox, Konami producer on the series, responded to a follower on Twitter who asked whether the upcoming action game would come to Nintendo's HD console.

His response was clear and concise: "Sorry to disappoint you but no chance." No explanation was given.

The confirmation comes despite the prequel, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate, being a Nintendo 3DS exclusive due out in March.
