Be sure to download the "critical" day one patch for Far Cry 3 on PC

To benefit from an "optimal game experience".

Buying Far Cry 3 on PC? Then be sure to download the “critical” day one patch.

Ubisoft said patch 1.01 needs to be installed “in order to benefit from an optimal game experience”. The Uplay PC client will install the patch automatically (the game isn't being sold on Steam in the UK for a reason both Valve and Ubisoft are yet to explain).

So, what does the patch do?

It improves overall multiplayer stability and performance, fixes voice chat issues, sorts out co-op problems, tweaks the map editor, improves single-player stability and performance, fixes flickering water textures and other gubbins.

Check out the patch notes on the Ubisoft forum.
