Max Payne 3 is getting four new multiplayer maps inspired by the ludicrously named anti-hero's past in the Painful Memories pack. Due on 4th December for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, it will cost 800 Microsoft Points / $9.99, while season pass holders will receive it at no additional charge.

The Roscoe Street Subway map will allow players to revisit the metro station from the first Max Payne, Marty's Bar is set in Max's old watering hole, Shoot First transpires on the Branco family's yacht, and Gang Wars is set at Canal De Panamá.

Other additions include the IMG 5.56 and UAR-21 assault rifles, new avatars, and something called the Hangover Burst, which causes enemies to respawn with blurred vision, reduced stamina and health.

Nothing good has ever come out of lots of mobsters in a church.
