Cave shooter DoDonPachi Maximum heading to iOS this week

Bullet hell yeah!

Cave - the studio behind such cult favourite bullet hell games as Deathsmiles and Bug Princess 2 - is releasing its previous Windows Phone exclusive DoDonPachi Maximum on iOS this Friday, 26th October.

It will cost £4.99 / $6.99 for its first three days, before it resumes to its normal price of £7.99 / $11.99 on 29th October.

The game will require at least an iPhone 4 or iPad 2, though Cave noted the game is optimised for iPhone 5 and can be controlled entirely with gestures rather than virtual buttons.

Cave's other iOS offerings like Dodonpachi Resurrection and Bug Princess 2 have been well received. Our Chris Schilling spoke highly of the latter in his App of the Day write-up where wrote "Bug Princess 2 offers plenty of insect-blasting fun whether you're a shmup veteran or a total novice."

Below is a trailer of DoDonPachi Maximum on Windows Phone. Imagine that on a bigger screen, iPhone 5 owners.
