Infinity Blade Dungeons delayed until next year

Because setting up a new studio takes time, you know.

Epic Games announced its iOS dungeon crawling action-RPG Infinity Blade Dungeons won't be out until next year.

Epic noted much of this is due to having to set up an entirely new studio after it acquired the remnants of Kingdoms of Amalur developer Big Huge Games following 38 Studios' highly publicised belly-flop.

"Ever since the talented team at Impossible Studios got their hands on Infinity Blade: Dungeons, they've been busy adding their great ideas to the game," said Epic PR lead Wes Phillips in a comment to AllThingsD.

"There was also the matter of getting the Impossible Studios team up and running with desks, chairs, staplers and computers. The logistics of a new studio and implementing all these great ideas required a little extra time, so Infinity Blade: Dungeons will hit iOS in 2013."

The report also noted that "more than a few" Gears of War vets at Epic are working on Infinity Blade Dungeons as well.
