Resident Evil 6 has a Call of Duty Elite-style online stat service

It's called ResidentEvil.net.

Resident Evil 6 has a free online stat-tracking service, Capcom has announced. ResidentEvil.net will log data on your playthrough and offer a number of in-game rewards.

The service will track your personal battle reports, details of the weapons you used and the enemies you've killed. And likewise for all your friends.

Stats for multiplayer mode Mercenaries are tracked in real time, with links to brag about your successes via Facebook and Twitter. You can also sign up to get a message when your records are broken.

You'll be able to see when your friends arrive online and track what they're up to, and sign-up to get such alerts delivered to you in-game.

Regular community challenges will see a Championship Belt awarded to the winner. Other prizes include rare costumes for Mercenaries online co-op, and collectible ResidentEvil.net figurines.

You can also see a re-cap of the game's story so far, as well as unlocked intel reports.

ResidentEvil.net is free to all players of Resident Evil 6. Smartphone and tablet app-versions of the service are also in the works.

ResidentEvil.net will launch alongside Resident Evil 6.
