Bonkers Papo & Yo launch trailer blends live action and in-game footage

PSN exclusive out next Wednesday for £12.

Eye-catching PlayStation Network puzzle adventure game Papo & Yo launches on Wednesday 15th August, indie developer Minority has announced.

It costs £11.99 / €14.99, although PlayStation Plus subscribers get a 20 per cent discount.

To celebrate the game's impending launch, Minority released a launch trailer, below, created with the help of filmmakers Rezolution Pictures and Montreal-based director Alfonso Maiorana. It shows the start of Quico's story and the inspiration behind the game world, fusing live action and in-game footage.

Papo & Yo follows the exploits of a young boy whose best friend is a giant pink monster that turns into an abusive flaming demon when he eats frogs. The whole thing is not-so-loosely based on creative director Vander Caballero's relationship to his alcoholic father growing up.
