Shoot Many Robots: Arena Kings announced.

Beta sign-ups have begun.

Shoot Many Robots developer Demiurge Studios is making a spin-off of its platformer/shooter with the PC Free-to-Play Shoot Many Robots: Arena Kings coming to Steam.

The new game is a multiplayer affair focusing on competitive PvP battles. One mode, Royal Flush, tasks players with snatching crowns and then flushing them down toilets. New updates and content will be added weekly based on player feedback.

"While I've got notebooks full of weapons, special moves, and pants I can't wait to add, what's really exciting is getting to hear from players in the earliest stages of the game's development and giving them what they're asking for, sometimes in the very next weekly update," said lead designer Will Jennings.

"We're taking our favourite parts of Shoot Many Robots and stirring in PvP competition and gameplay that's constantly evolving," he explained.

"It's like a big tasty vegetarian stew with lots of guns in it, but also alive and mutating and fighting other soups." Yummy!

Sign-ups for the beta have already begun at the game's official site, with new batches of keys doled out weekly.

The first Shoot Many Robots was generally well received and our Dan Whitehead awarded it a 7/10. "If you have three reliable friends with a penchant for manic gunplay and surreal RPGs then Shoot Many Robots can be an enjoyably unpretentious distraction," he stated in his review .
