Online shop PlanetAxel.com has gone bust.

The web store, popular with European gamers wishing to import from the US, closed following a disastrous 2011 that caused an "insurmountable deficit and loss".

In a FAQ on PlanetAxel.com the company said customers who have shipped orders according to their order history but have not received them should get them. The company shipped out orders as late as Monday 18th June.

It promised to refund and delete all other outstanding orders. But, it fears its accounts may be frozen in the future on account of the company being declared bankrupt. If by 25th June you have not received a refund, you have to put in a claim with your bank, PayPal or Visa/MasterCard. You should then get your money back.

"On a personal note I would like [to] apologise to everyone that will be somehow affected or inconvenienced by this matter," general manager Rasmus Christiansen said.

"I've spend half my life with the company (18 years in total) and it all ended today. This is not 'just business' to me, but sincerely personal. I can honestly say that this has been a sad, sad day for all of us here at the office but the fact that so many suppliers, affiliates, employees and most important of all, customers are affected by this bankruptcy is almost unbearable.

"On behalf of everyone at PlanetAxel.com I offer my sincerest and heartfelt apologies and thank you for your support over the years."
