Sony survey hints at cross-platform digital discounts for PS3/Vita games

Plus, asks if digital releases should be cheaper than physical copies.

A new Sony survey has hinted at cross-platform digital discounts for any full game released on both PlayStation 3 and Vita.

The research, spotted by Digital Spy, asks respondents how likely it would be that they would purchase a Vita copy of a game they already own for PlayStation 3 if it was offered at a discount.

It offered a range of possible savings, ranging from 100 per cent off to a more modest £5 saving.

The survey used a seemingly hypothetical Grand Theft Auto game as its test case.

The questionnaire also asked customers if they'd rather buy a physical copy of a PS3 or Vita game at full price, or a digital version with a £5 discount. For Vita, respondents were asked to answer the question for five different games - PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale, LittleBigPlanet, and unnamed titles in the Uncharted, GTA and Gran Turismo franchises.
