New Super Mario Bros. U announced for Wii U

Includes Miiverse functionality.

Nintendo has just confirmed New Super Mario Bros. U, another side-scrolling Mario title similar to others in the series.

It'll launch for Wii U and feature the game's Miiverse social features announced at the company's pre-E3 show on Monday.

It looks like Mario's Raccoon suit will once more return, just as it will in this summer's New Super Mario Bros. 2 on 3DS.

You'll be able to help other players by leaving Miiverse messages on the game's revamped world map, informing them of level secrets.

Gameplay can be transferred to the Wii U GamePad. Multiplayer features will once again return. More soon.
