US student makes working Portal turret replica

Penn State whiz substitutes bullets for nerf darts.

A mechatronics student from Penn State University in the US has created a fully-operational Portal gun turret for his final class project.

A YouTube clip, as flagged up on Reddit, shows the aforementioned, unnamed individual showing off his creation.

The device uses an IP web camera and some clever coding to track the movement of anyone wearing a pink shirt. Should the target stand still, it then fires nerf darts at it.

It's got a Portal-style voiceover for added authenticity, and a proper shell is currently in the works too. Impressive, no?
