Dead Island: Game of the Year Edition incoming - report

BBFC flags up June re-release.

Marmite zombie actioner Dead Island is getting a Game of the Year edition according to UK ratings board the BBFC.

As spotted by Siliconera, the game's listing mentions a 30th June release date for the re-launch.

There's no word on exactly what's included, but presumably both the Ryder White and Bloodbath Arena add-ons will be in there.

Though a sizeable hit for developer Techland, the game received a mixed reception from critics when it launched last September.

"I suspect this will be one of those games that will be justifiably mocked by the majority for its many flaws but embraced by a forgiving minority, and passionately defended for its underdog status," read Eurogamer's 6/10 Dead Island review.

"Neither response will be entirely wrong. Much like gnawing on human flesh, Dead Island's clumsy horror-action role-player is the definition of an acquired taste."
