Nearly half of FIFA Euro 2012 DLC teams are unlicensed

UPDATE 2: EA has confirmed that 24 out of the 53 teams featured in the Euro 2012 expansion are "generic" unlicensed squads.
A spokesperson for the publisher told Eurogamer that though it would ideally have liked all teams to be fully licensed, the realities of negotiating terms with 53 separate national football associations meant that was impossible to achieve.
Here's the statement in full:
"The national teams in Euro 2012 are a combination of teams officially licensed or covered by our FIFPro license, and generic teams. While we would like to have every national team officially licensed, of the 53 national teams in the game, 29 are licensed. The remaining ones are generic.
"The inclusion of national teams is negotiated between EA and each national football association, which we need to license individually. Licensing teams and leagues is a business decision based on market size and limited resources, and within these parameters, we were not able to negotiate an agreement with every football association to have their national team included within the game."
UPDATE 1: It seems a number of players are complaining of a screen freezing glitch in the download too.
A post on EA Sports' Twitter feed acknowledged the problem and promised it is "investigating".
ORIGINAL STORY: Nearly half of the the 53 international teams featured in the new FIFA Euro 2012 DLC are unlicensed and feature faked player names and false strips.
Disgruntled gamers have flocked to the EA forums to voice their displeasure at the spotty support for real squads.
The unlicensed teams reportedly include host nation Ukraine, as well as Wales, Slovakia, Estonia, Belarus and FYR Macedonia.
We've asked EA for an explanation and will update if we hear back.
It seems the DLC has generally met with a rather lukewarm response from the FIFA community. Fans are also complaining at the lack of a qualifying round option and the fact that you're only allowed to take one team through the tournament.
The expansion launched on PC, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade priced at £15.99/1800 Microsoft Points.
