Kinect Star Wars app on iOS, Android today

Whether you're on Yodaphone or O2-D2.

Microsoft will launch a free Kinect Star Wars app for iOS and Android devices today.

The download, already available on Windows Phones, turns your Facebook and Twitter feeds into the scrolling text of Star Wars' infamous opening crawl.

"We are literally putting 'the Force' directly into people's phones to help launch Kinect Star Wars," said Stephen McGill, Microsoft UK's Xbox boss. "Fans will be able to carry a piece of the Star Wars universe in their pockets and, like the new game for Xbox 360, immerse themselves in the incredible world of one of the most enduring entertainment franchises like never before."

You can also buy Kinect Star Wars directly from the app.

Eurogamer rated Kinect Star Wars 5/10 when it launched earlier this month. The game sold well enough to top the UK charts on its week of release, however.
