Max Payne comic book series announced

Houser-authored three-parter delves into Max's past.

A three-part Max Payne comic book series is on its way, just in time for the impending launch in the third game in Rockstar's action adventure series.

Published in partnership with Marvel Custom Solutions it'll explore the events of the original Max Payne game and its sequel, as well as delving a little further back in the protagonist's troubled past.

Rockstar boss Dan Houser and Sam Lake of original developer Remedy are authoring the books, the first of which is titled After the Fall.

It'll be available for free "in the next few weeks" via digital comic retailers, Rockstar's site and the game's official web page. There'll also be a limited physical print run, though Rockstar is yet to confirm details of how you can get your hands on those.

Max Payne 3 - the video game - is due on shelves from 18th May.
