Alan Wake dev starts work on next-gen project

Remedy staffing up to create "games of the future".

Alan Wake developer Remedy Entertainment has started work on a next-gen project, judging by a new recruitment call from the Finnish studio.

A post on its official site earlier today stated that it's "looking for world-class talent to work on an unannounced project targeted at future generation consoles."

More than 20 roles will become available over the next few months, with the first batch of openings going live "as soon as Friday 30th of March".

Remedy's head of franchise development Oskari Hakkinen was cagey about the developer's next-gen plans in a Eurogamer interview last month.

"Concerning next-gen, I really can't speak to it because it's just a fuzzy thought in everybody's head right now," he explained.

"We don't know [what's coming]. They're keeping it very tight. Maybe it's just not the right time to talk about it."

The studio's last release was Xbox Live Arcade effort Alan Wake's American Nightmare, which launched to measured acclaim back in February.
