GAME won't stock Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Update: Capcom has issued Eurogamer a statement.

"Further to the recent announcement concerning Street Fighter x Tekken and Asura's Wrath, Capcom must confirm that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, scheduled for release on Friday, 23rd March, will not be stocked by GAME or Gamestation - either in their retail outlets or on their online stores operating in the UK and Ireland."

"Capcom wants to reassure its consumers that this title will be available at a wide variety of retailers across the UK and Ireland. For those consumers who have already placed a deposit to pre-order of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, then a full refund will be available - please contact your local GAME or Gamestation shop or visit the online stores."

"Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is available for pre-order or to purchase on day of release from the following outlets: Blockbusters, HMV,,,, The Hut and leading independent stockists as well as supermarket chains."

Original story: GAME Group (GAME/Gamestation) won't stock PS3 and Xbox 360 game Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

Eurogamer confirmed this with a GAME store this morning, following an MCV report.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, a co-op shooter made by Slant Six, will be released Friday, 23rd March.

Any of you with a GAME or Gamestation pre-order for Raccoon City will need to go in-store for a refund, we were told.

PS3 and Xbox 360 versions arrive first. A PC version will follow.

Capcom was unavailable for comment.

Capcom had previously said GAME's predicament wouldn't affect sales of Raccoon City.
