Nintendo prevailing against "patent trolls"

"We refuse to succumb."

Nintendo has emerged victorious from a patent infringement lawsuit aimed at the company's Wii Fit Balance Board.

Technology company IA Labs had attempted to sue Nintendo for copying ideas from its own device, which looks like a rowing machine attached to a PC.

He (she?) likes patents.

The lawsuit was summarily dismissed by a US District Court judge.

"We refuse to succumb to patent trolls," Nintendo legal exec Rick Flamm stated.

Nintendo has now won a hat-trick of patent lawsuits since the start of 2012.

"Nintendo has a passionate tradition of developing innovative products while respecting the intellectual property rights of others," Flamm continued.

"We vigorously defend patent lawsuits when we firmly believe that we have not infringed another party's patent."

Legally not a balance board.
