A beta session for ambitious Xbox Live Arcade FPS Hybrid kicks off soon, developer 5th Cell has announced.

Sign-up will commence shortly after next week's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

First announced back in 2010 before disappearing for an overhaul, the game sees you picking sides in a persistent online world war.

It's due out some time in the summer - take a look at the trailer below for more.

It's 5th Cell's first home console title, having focused on DS (Drawn to Life, Scribblenauts) and iOS (Run Roo Run) until now.
