Dungeon Defenders racks up 1m sales

Strategy RPG besieges gamers' wallets.

Cheerful RPG/tower defense hybrid has now racked up more than a million paid downloads since it launched back in October, publisher Reverb has announced.

Those sales are across PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, according to a Joystiq interview with CEO Doug Kennedy.

"It is a tremendously successful franchise," said Kennedy. "We have lots of plans to support it both with DLC and additional add-ons for the franchise."

Not all of that DLC will make it to consoles however. As reported last week, developer Trendy Entertainment claims that bringing all add-ons over from the PC is just not feasible.

"This is for a variety of technical and business reasons including patch size limitations and patch stacking requirements, as well as the massive restructuring of the current console game that would have to take place, the QA processes necessary to prepare those changes for submission, and the opportunity cost of pursuing other projects," read a post on the game's forums.
