Assassin's Creed creative director jumps ship

Alexandre Amancio joins marketing firm.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations' creative director Alexandre Amancio has left Ubisoft.

As detailed by GameInformer, he's now chief creative officer at Cossette - a Quebec-based marketing company.

Amancio also served as art director on 2008 FPS Far Cry 2.

"Video games and advertising have many common elements. In both industries, we are always looking for new ways to engage the consumer to the brand," commented Amancio on Cossette's blog.

"In addition, like advertising, the video game industry must now take into account and supply a very important social dimension in its development and strategies. The game is no longer just a game, it's a community, relations between players, and the brand."

He's not the only high profile figure to desert the Assassin's Creed franchise in recent years. Former creative director Patrice Désilets jumped ship in 2010 to head up THQ's new Montreal studio.

Ubisoft has confirmed that a brand new Assassin's Creed title is scheduled to launch before the end of 2012.
