960,000 Xbox 360s sold in the US last week

Best week ever for Microsoft's console.

The Xbox 360 sold 960,000 units in the US last week, Microsoft has announced.

As detailed by Major Nelson, that makes it the most successful seven days in the console's history.

800,000 of those were sold in a single 24 hour period - presumably annual US shopping blowout Black Friday.

In addition, Microsoft also sold 750,000 Kinect units over the same period.

Nintendo also announced an impressive set of Black Friday figures earlier this week. The Wii sold 500,000 on Friday alone, the DS moved 900,000 over the entire week and the 3DS saw a 325 per cent sales bump over a two week period.

Sony is yet to reveal how the PlayStation 3 fared.
