Call of Duty Elite members get one month free

Activision makes good for ongoing launch hiccups.

All paid-up Call of Duty Elite premium members get an extra 30 days added to their account for free, as compensation for ongoing issues with the service, Activision has announced.

A post on the official Call of Duty site today acknowledged that many users still aren't able to access the service following its launch earlier this week.

Apparently "greater than expected demand is crashing servers." Activision explained that its deploying additional servers and temporarily limiting access from both the console app and website while additional capacity is added.

"We'll look to increase access to greater numbers of users as soon as possible," it promised.

You needn't worry that your current gameplay data has been lost - it's been stored and will be available for viewing when normal service resumes.

As well as offering an extra 30 days free of charge, Acti is also extending Founder status eligibility until the end of November. Sign up now and you'll get the additional month's access too.
