Gears 3! F1! Resi 4 HD!

It's here, the Eurogamer Expo 2011, our fourth and biggest year so far. We've taken all your feedback from the past three years, and our experience, and come up with a show we want to go to. Tickets have basically gone (there are scraps so be quick), and we're all wibbly-wobbly at the knees to see first hordes trample through the doors. You'll get extra marks for spotting me at the show and I may even kiss you.

Don't worry if you can't get a ticket on the door, because there are plenty of big new games out this week. And not just in shops. On Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, mid-week, you'll find Burnout Crash, made by Burnout-proper develop Criterion. It's a top-down spin-off where the relatively simple graphics afford fast, bonkers gameplay and smashes and crashes aplenty. Xbox Live (Games on Demand) and PlayStation Network also this week welcome the HD remaster of beloved survival-horror shooter Resident Evil 4.

Fallout: New Vegas welcomes another hefty downloadable add-on this week called Lonesome Road, which wraps up the Courier's journey.

The long-awaited budget-priced 5th Anniversary Edition of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion hits shops this Friday. Brutal fighting game Supremacy MMA arrives after a long wait on Friday, too.

This Week in Shops!

Gears of War 3

  • Developer: Epic Games
  • Publisher: Microsoft
  • Formats: Xbox 360

What is it? The climactic third instalment in Epic Games' Xbox 360-defining third-person shooter series. What does Eurogamer think? Johnny Minkley stamped an 8/10 at the end of his Gears of War 3 review.

Marcus down for a copy.

F1 2011

  • Developer: Codemasters
  • Publisher: Codemasters
  • Formats: PC, PS3, Xbox 360

What is it? Simulation F1 racing. What does Eurogamer think? Martin Robinson dished an 8/10 in his F1 2011 review. "A marginally better outing than last year, then, and that's enough to ensure that, as F1 games go, this is still quite comfortably the best."

Michelin star.

Resident Evil 4 HD

  • Developer: Capcom
  • Publisher: Capcom
  • Formats: PSN, XBLA

What is it? An HD remake of Resident Evil 4 - a classic. What does Eurogamer think? Rich Stanton has just this minute awarded 7/10 in his Resident Evil 4 HD review. "Resident Evil 4 is a brilliant game, but that's exactly why Resident Evil 4 HD is such a disappointment," he wrote.

Soldiering brave Leon.

What Else?

  • Burnout Crash (XBLA, PSN)
  • Resident Evil 4 HD (XBLGOD, PSN)
  • New Vegas: Lonesome Road (PC, PSN, XBLA)
  • Rotastic (XBLA)
  • Supremacy MMA (PS3, Xbox 360)
  • Oblivion 5th Anniversary (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Chart Predictions!

Each week one of the team attempts to predict the future - in this case, what next week's top five games will be in the UK all-formats chart. The following predicts the outcome for the week beginning Friday, 23rd September.

Wesley Yin-Poole, News Editor

"The charts look set for a shake up this week with the launch of sure to be huge Xbox 360 exclusive Gears of War 3. The game's beta saw record numbers for an Xbox game, so I'm sure it'll sell well. Well enough, in fact, to go straight in at number one. In second will be F1 2011, which always does well in the UK. After that, it has to be Dead Island, which continues to sell impressively, Space Marine, then PlayStation 3 exclusive shooter Resistance 3."

  1. Gears of War 3
  2. F1 2011
  3. Dead Island
  4. Space Marine
  5. Resistance 3

Last week, Eurogamer news writer Robert Purchese - hey that's me - almost did predict the future. IF ONLY HE HAD PUT DRIVER AND RESISTANCE THE OTHER WAY ROUND. Nonetheless, he did really, really well and should be congratulated if you ever see him. What a nice man. The truth, reader, lies in the results table below.

Position The Truth The Prediction Result
1 Dead Island Dead Island Brilliant!
2 W40K: Space Marine W40K: Space Marine Inspired!
3 Resistance 3 Driver: San Francisco Unlucky!
4 Driver: San Francisco Resistance 3 So close!
5 Deus Ex: Human Revolution Deus Ex: Human Revolution Well done!

Your Chart Predictions!

Can you see into the future? Every week we ask you where one new game will place in the UK charts. Last week it was Kinect game The Gunstringer. A meaty 67 per cent of you predicted that The Gunstringer would finish 11th or below. And you were quite right. But it was an easy question.

This week it will be harder. This week it will be Supremacy MMA.
