Activision will not release a Prestige Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Confirmation comes from the Twitter page of Infinity Ward community man Robert Bowling.

Call of Duty Prestige Editions have attracted attention for their eye-catching extras.

The Prestige Edition of 2010 shooter Black Ops included a RC-XD Surveillance Vehicle that actually worked.

And the Prestige Edition of 2009's Modern Warfare 2 included fully functional night vision goggles.

For Modern Warfare 3, fans will have to make do with the Hardened Edition, which includes a year subscription to Call of Duty Elite, among other gubbins.
