Ubisoft wants singer for Assassin's song

Launches X-Factor-style competition.

Ubisoft has launched an X-Factor-style competition to find the vocalist for the Assassin's Creed: Revelations theme song.

Film composer Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception) is after a "soft melodic voice" to sing along to the theme song's "hauntingly stirring theme score", composed by Lorne Balfe. Do you have a soft melodic voice?

You have to sign up to cloud-based music creation website UJAM, listen to the theme track and record your vocal on top of it. YES.

A jury made up of Hans Zimmer, Lorne Balfe and Assassin's Creed music supervisor Simon Landry will pick the winner from the top 20 songs as shortlisted by the online-voting public. The winner will get $1000 and will be invited to record their vocals in a professional studio with credits on Revelations' soundtrack.

UJAM said there's no need to have any professional experience, and anyone with a laptop can participate. "This is as democratic as it can get," UJAM founder Peter Gorges said.

The competition is live, runs until 19th September, and is open in the UK, US, Canada and Germany.
