Minecraft sells 3 million

Notch levels up.

Indie sensation Minecraft has just reached another astonishing sales milestone.

"Minecraft just sold its third million copy!" Tweeted creator Markus "Notch" Persson.

The news follows last month's revelation that Minecraft had passed the ten million registered user mark.

Tiny Swedish developer Mojang is estimated to have generated around £35 million in revenue off the back of the PC game.

Minecraft finally leaves beta and in November, when it will officially release. It's also due out on Xbox Live Arcade later this year.
