EA makes Burnout Crash official

XBLA version supports Kinect.

EA has made official Burnout Crash!, first leaked by a ratings board earlier this year.

It launches on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade this autumn.

Burnout Crash! is developed by Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit creator Criterion Games. EA said this evening the UK studio has gone back to its roots by bringing the popular Crash mode to the forefront.

Crash! adds top-down gameplay and the Autolog feature from Hot Pursuit, so you can compete with your friends.

You're rewarded for crashing into cars, EA said, and triggering explosions. Autolog lets you compare high scores. New Autolog Challenges let you go head to head with your friends.

"Burnout Crash! is a crazy mix of pinball and game shows," creative director Richard Franke said.

"We've evolved the core gameplay which everyone loved about Crash Mode, and expanded the whole experience using music, style and Autolog to create what we feel is the most mindless fun you can have on any gaming platform."

There are three game modes across 18 crash junctions in six locations, and a variety of player vehicles to unlock.

Burnout Crash! is EA's first XBLA game to feature a Kinect exclusive mode. Here, two teams use gestural controls to play on one TV in a party battle.
