3DS finally back on top in Japan charts

Ocarina gives handheld big sales bump.

The 3DS has finally unseated the PSP at the top of Japan's weekly hardware sales chart, after months of Sony domination.

According to the latest Media Create numbers, reported by Andriasang, Nintendo's new handheld sold 40,649 units last week, well up on the 24,649 it managed the week before.

The arrival on shelves of Ocarina of Time 3D is no doubt behind the spike. The revamped Zelda classic sold a very healthy 164,110 copies in its first four days on sale.

The PSP came in second with 31,741 sales, but also saw an upswing off the back of new Level-5 IP Little Battle eXperience.

Little Battle eXperience just pipped Ocarina of Time to the software crown, though reports suggest that the Zelda game sold out after Nintendo decided on a modest 150k week-one shipment.

Last week's number one, Yakuza: Of The End, fell to three in its second seven days on release. Here's the top 20 in its entirety:
