RuneFest 2011 dates, prices, details

Jagex's answer to BlizzCon.

Move over BlizzCon, move over EVE Fanfest, because RuneFest is back for a second year.

RuneFest is bulging British developer Jagex's celebration of RuneScape, the biggest free MMO there is.

The second RuneFest fan bonanza takes place at London's picturesque Old Billingsgate building on Saturday 29th October and Sunday 30th October.

Tickets are pricey: £59 for a day, £99 for the weekend or £179 for VIP treatment.

VIPs get priority seating at all presentations, private insider sessions with senior devs, signed art and a private J-Mod staffed area with a VIP bar. A VIP ticket also means you're going to the after party, plus there are "a few surprises" being held back for the event.

Each floor of the Old Billingsgate venue (that hosted the Eurogamer Expo in 2009) will be RuneScape themed. Sessions, presentations, gaming zones, silly events, real-world RuneScape-inspired activities and parties are the order of the weekend.

This year will be particularly poignant as Jagex celebrates 10 years of RuneScape, which is so successful it more or less funds a 520-strong company. You'll also probably get a look at Jagex's new sci-fi MMO Stellar Dawn and the Transformers Universe MMO, although that isn't specified in the press release.

Keep an eye on the RuneFest website for when tickets go on sale. Buy early to avoid disappointment. Plus it gives you more time to work on your RuneScape-themed costume.

I'm going to dress up as a Miasmic Barrage.
