Sony details PS Store, Plus return

Sony is planning multiple weekly PlayStation Store updates to deal with the backlog of content following the 25 day PSN outage.

In a new FAQ posted on the PlayStation Blog, social media manager Jeff Rubenstein detailed Sony's plan for bringing other PSN services back online following the relaunch of a number of features this weekend.

"To date, three Tuesday publishes were missed, which included items like Under Siege and the MotorStorm Apocalypse demo. Rest assured that you won't miss any of this great content," he said, discussing the imminent return of the PlayStation Store.

"To catch up on the large amount of material, we'll be publishing to the PlayStation Store multiple times per week once commerce functionality is restored.

"We will update the PlayStation.Blog with information on timing of the Store restoration, as well as the full list of new content as each publish occurs."

As for PlayStation Plus content, "We will be picking back up with the PlayStation Plus content calendar where we left off to ensure that you won't miss out on anything," Rubenstein stated.

The FAQ also discussed promotions currently being worked out for specific games affected by the downtime.

SOCOM 4 developer Zipper will apparently soon "announce details on activities to re-engage fans of SOCOM 4 who have patiently waited to play online."

A planned double XP weekend for Call of Duty: Black Ops that fell foul of the outage will also be rescheduled and inFamous 2 developer Sucker Punch is looking into extending the game's beta, "as well as expanding its scope."

Sony has promised that all PSN service will be back online by the end of the month.
