Red Faction: Armageddon demo announced

Taster hits PS3, Xbox 360 next week.

A demo for Volition's forthcoming Red Faction: Armageddon arrives on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live on 3rd May, publisher THQ has announced.

Apparently you'll be stepping into the shoes of hero Darius Mason and fighting your way through some alien-infested Martian sewers.

The revamped Nano Forge weapon will be at your disposal, letting you rebuild scenery that you've previously reduced to rubble, as well as the Magnet Gun, which allows you to lob entire buildings at your hapless foes.

No PC release for the demo is mentioned.

Eurogamer recently went hands-on with the game's multiplayer modes.

"A lot depends on the single-player's reception," wrote Dan Griliopoulos. "If that doesn't do well, players are unlikely to last long enough to try out Infestation. Even if they do, the parallels between Horde mode and this might be too strong to stomach for many players."

Find out when the full game launches on 3rd June.
