Twisted Metal PS3 release date

Jaffe's cake.

PS3 exclusive Twisted Metal will be released on 4th October.

The date is stamped at the end of a new video posted by GameTrailers. We're shown a mash of gameplay footage and dark, stylised CGI sequences, all of which encapsulate the 'I don't care what you think', clown-painted vehicular violence of the game.

We're checking with Sony about which territories the release date refers to. The new date, 4th October, is a Tuesday, which is a US release day.

Twisted Metal PS3 is a project helmed by God of War creator David Jaffe. Eurogamer's Oli Welsh gleefully unbuckled his seatbelt to ride with Twisted Metal last summer at E3.

"With its squealing guitar metal soundtrack and scrappy Mad Max visuals, complex controls and fussy HUD, Twisted Metal is vehicular combat done not stylishly, but well," he wrote.

"Even with Sony's spotlight shined directly on it, it's happy to just be Twisted Metal. And plenty of people out there - perhaps more than you think - will be very happy with that."
