Evil Ryu, Oni Akuma revealed for SSFIVAE

Will Capcom add new characters to PS3, 360?

New videos have confirmed the addition of Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma to the Arcade Edition of fighting game Super Street Fighter IV.

iplaywinner posted videos of a US play test of the Arcade Edition of the game that clearly show the two in action.

Shoryuken followed up with its own set of videos, showing Ultras and Supers from both characters.

Based on play test reports from Los Angeles arcade Arcade Infinity, Evil Ryu is a high damage, offensive character with low stamina. Oni does medium damage but has higher stamina than Akuma.

Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma follow Yun and Yang as new characters for SSFIVAE, which also features rebalanced gameplay.

The question on the lips of fighting game fans now is: will Capcom bring the Arcade Edition to the home console versions of Super Street Fighter IV?

"It's still a secret," producer Yoshinori Ono replied during last week's Nintendo 3DS preview event in Amsterdam when Eurogamer asked him when the Arcade Edition would hit Europe.

Ono has of course spent the last year tweeting about the Arcade Edition. Back in October he pitched the idea of offering Yun and Yang as DLC for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 gamers to Capcom USA.

Later, when asked for an update on the Yun and Yang situation, Ono cryptically posted, "Hehehe, We are developing SSFIV for Nintendo 3DS just now. Next, we will be..... ;D"

The console version of Super Street Fighter IV arrived on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last year to considerable acclaim. Eurogamer's Simon Parkin awarded the game a mighty 10/10.
