PC Need for Speed denied paid DLC

EA's Criterion "constrained by resources".

Criterion has delivered a crushing blow to PC owners of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit: there will be scarcely any premium DLC for you - mostly bug fixes.

"Hey all," posted developer EASpenser on the EA forum (via Ripten), "unfortunately we will not be releasing Need for Speed Hot Pursuit [premium downloadable content] for the PC."

"While we are certainly committed to providing the best possible game experience and ongoing support for our PC community, (as you have already noted) we have a limited amount of resources that makes it so that we are unable to deliver new content to all platforms.

"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience, but on the positive side we do have more updates and content on the way for PC players - look for news very soon."

The Need for Speed Twitter offers slim consolation.

"You're right," NFS tweeted to a fan, "fixing issues is the minimum. PC will not be left out of every content update. But it is resource dependent."

The NFS Twitter added: "We'll continue to do our best to make sure PC fans feel valued, but we are constrained by resources."

Criterion released a genre-leading slate of add-ons for Burnout Paradise, most of which were stuffed into the PC Ultimate Box release. Assume Hot Pursuit will be extended in a similar way, and PC users stand to miss a mountain of content.

All because of limited resources - at EA?

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit's first batch of paid-for DLC will be a Super Sports pack, arriving 21st December for 560 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360 or £5.49 on PS3. Inside is a Porsche, GUMPERT and Bugatti.

Which leaves PS3 and 360. So, which is better?
