Daily puzzles for 3DS Prof. Layton

Graphics will impress from start - Level-5.

3DS game Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle will be given one new puzzle every day for a year by Level-5.

It's all part of a brand new puzzle download service, the game's maker revealed at a Japense Level-5 event reported by Andriasang.

The puzzles will be made by clever-clogs Akira Tago, a brain teaser Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino idolised as a child.

On stage, Hino said of Mask of Miracle: "The biggest feature this time is that it's for the 3DS."

Apparently the project had started life on DS, but Level-5 "redid" it for 3DS "midway" through development.

A promotional video running on 3DS hardware was shown to the audience. Characters will be motion captured in event scenes, and Hino believes you'll be surprised at what can be accomplished on Nintendo's new handheld from the start.

You'll follow two time lines - one that stars the present Layton and another that features a younger Layton.

Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle will be released in spring 2011. No Western date has been revealed.

The 3DS will be released in Japan on 26th February 2011, and in the West in March.
