Valve: no plans for Steam trade-ins

Pachter's comments were "untrue".

Valve has refuted an analyst's claim that its Steam platform would soon start offering a game trade-in service.

"Steam's about to let you do that supposedly - you know, like trade and exchange - but they're going to take a fee from it," Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter claimed yesterday.

Valve marketing chief Doug Lombardi has since told Eurogamer that Pachter's comments are fiction and that no such plans exist.

"Untrue. We've never had a meeting with Mr Pachter," said Lombardi. "I'm not sure what else there is to say."

In an interview with Eurogamer earlier this year, Pachter admitted that sometimes he doesn't always get it right. "All the time. All the time," he said. "But who cares?"
