Zoë Mode working with Matsuura on Haunt

"Creative partnership off to a great start."

SingStar and EyeToy developer Zoë Mode is working with PaRappa the Rapper creator Masaya Matsuura on Kinect Xbox Live Arcade horror game Haunt.

Haunt, announced at the Tokyo Game Show, is a light-hearted blend of first-person puzzle-solving and exploration set in a haunted house. It focuses on scares rather than overblown gore.

You have to use the Kinect sensor – out in the UK on 10th November – to navigate the environment.

"We've spent a couple of years looking to collaborate with NanaOn-Sha and are delighted to have the opportunity with Haunt," said Zoë Mode boss Ed Daly.

"The creative partnership is off to a great start and we look forward to fulfilling our brief in developing their vision for this ambitious and exciting game."

An excited NanaOn-Sha president Matsuura added: "Haunt provides a 100 per cent new and exclusive gameplay experience for Kinect that will leave you in a state of shock and awe!

"We are striving with all our skill and experience to make our international collaboration with Zoë Mode a successful model that raises the bar for international game development."

Haunt's out next year.
