Xbox, Cube and PC see Red

THQ has confirmed what the American ESRB unwittingly did in November - that Red Faction II is headed to GameCube and Xbox this year, with a PC version also on the cards. The ports, which are not being handled by original developer Volition, will feature "a number of enhancements and improvements".

THQ has allotted development of the Cube version ("custom animations, improved texture resolution and colour as well as enhanced lighting") to Cranky Pants Games, whose name we've ridiculed in the past, while development of the Xbox and PC versions ("increased texture resolution, and exclusive multiplayer maps and character models") will be handled by Outrage Games, another THQ studio. THQ has not confirmed Xbox Live support at this time.
