Konami Karts in 2003

“We bought Hudson”

Konami of Europe will publish Hudson Soft's hugely derivative Mario Kart rip-off, Bomberman Kart, in Q1 2003. Having recently acquired Japanese developer Hudson, Konami will also be releasing additional titles in Europe including Pinobee for PSone over the course of 2003.

Bomberman Kart won our hearts in spectacular fashion earlier this year when this writer purchased a Japanese copy and discovered it played host to a version of the original Bomberman multiplayer game. Although the racing aspect is so-so, with slightly fiddlier controls than Mario Kart and virtually everything else MK did lovingly borrowed reasonably, together with the original multiplayer hit, they make a very desirable package.
