Cube not getting Pro Evo

Contrary to reports

Konami recently made a confusing announcement in Japan concerning Winning Eleven 6. In confirming that World Soccer Winning Eleven 6: Final Evolution (WE6 plus all the improvements found in Pro Evo 2) will shortly appear on PlayStation 2, the firm also told of a new Winning Eleven game due for release on GameCube. Naturally, certain sections of the press leapt on this slip and joyfully proclaimed that Pro Evo was Cube-bound. Not for the first time.

However, we've spoken to Konami and once again they've told us that Pro Evo is definitely not appearing on GameCube in the form we're used to. According to representatives in the UK, the Cube Winning Eleven is closer to ISS than Pro Evo, as with previous releases, and Pro Evo will remain a Sony exclusive, at least for the time being.
