CPL Europe resurrected

has been resurrected, with Gamers Network taking over the reins, after the previous organisers of the European side of The CPL failed miserably in their attempts to bring pro-gaming to Europe. The previously planned Scandinavian and French Open events were both cancelled at short notice, forcing the company to refund travel and accommodation expenses for some players who had already booked ahead, and now the Copenhagen event which had been intended to replace these events has also been closed down. Instead the new organisers have announced the "Cologne Open", taking place in the German city of Köln where the organisation's headquarters are being established. The new event will take place "some time in November", with Quake 3 duel and Counter-Strike team play competitions with an undisclosed amount of cash prizes up for grabs.
