More Voodoo 5 delays

The much delayed new generation of graphics cards from former market leader 3dfx has suffered yet another set-back, with the release of their flagship Voodoo 5 5500 now delayed due to what they are describing as "field failure rates at very low levels in certain configurations".

According to a press release from 3dfx, the company is currently "conducting further tests to determine whether a problem actually exists", which will delay the card's release by a further one or two weeks. Randy Schussler, Vice President of Operations at 3dfx, is reported as saying that "we believe that this affects only a small number of configurations, but we feel that this is the safest thing to do".
