John Carmack on graphics cards

John Carmack of id Software has passed judgement on the latest crop of graphics card, and it looks like he agrees with our own graphics card round-up, which we posted here on EuroGamer on Monday.

He talks about the GeForce range from NVIDIA, saying that he "wholeheartedly recommends it", then looks at the potential of ATI's Radeon 256, and covers the latest cards from 3dfx, saying that "it probably wouldn't be wise to buy a voodoo5 if you plan on keeping it for two years" because of its lack of T&L acceleration and other advanced features. He also comments that their "voodoo4 is just catching up to the original TNT", but the quad chip Voodoo 5 6000 will be the fastest thing on the market when it appears this summer .. if you can afford one.

For the full story, read his .plan. It's not too technical by John Carmack's standards, so check it out!
