I've fallen back in love, and it feels great. My romance with Skyrim last winter - has it really been a year? - was heady and intense, but over the months since it cooled considerably. My levelling up had levelled off. The map markers were all filled in, and all that was left for me to do was maybe consider finally trying my hand at alchemy.

Skyrim Dragonborn confirmed for PC and PS3 early next year

UPDATE: Bethesda: “We think Dragonborn is our best add-on for Skyrim yet." That's why it's coming to PS3 ahead of the MIA other DLCs.

Update: When asked why Dragonborn would be coming out on all formats when the previous DLCs still hadn't made it on PS3, Bethesda responded, “We think Dragonborn is our best add-on for Skyrim yet, and we didn't want fans to wait long, so that's our current focus. Each platform takes a lot of time and attention.”

If you can, own an Elder Scrolls game on PC - partly for the performance gains, but mostly for the mods. These fix, alter and improve the games in ways Bethesda wouldn't, or is too busy to.

Dawnguard, the first download add-on for Bethesda's world-conquering Skyrim, is a curious thing. Unlike the blockbuster ambitions of BioWare, Bethesda RPGs are more about place than plot. They're about roaming, poking around and seeing what happens, and the various quest lines are there to tug you in the direction of new places.
